Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager to oversee the technical infrastructure, workflows, and operational delivery of our post-production facility.

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our technical operations, including media ingest, internal workflows, MCR operations, and delivery pipelines.

You’ll manage the technical operations team and play a key role in maintaining and developing efficient workflows across the facility. Alongside day-to-day operations, the role will also contribute to the ongoing development of the facility’s technical capabilities as the business continues to grow.

We work across a range of projects including scripted television, unscripted programming and commercial work, and this role sits at the centre of the technical workflows supporting those productions.

As a growing post-production company, we are looking for someone who can help shape how our technical infrastructure and workflows evolve as the business expands. The successful candidate will work closely with the directors, internal teams and clients to ensure our technical operations continue to support both our creative work and the evolving needs of the industry.

Typical Projects & Workflows

The facility supports a variety of productions across scripted, non-scripted programming, and commercial work, with workflows spanning editorial, finishing, and delivery.

The Technical Operations Manager will oversee workflows including:

• Media ingest and preparation for post-production pipelines
  

• Management of shared storage, media movement, and internal media workflows
  

• Supporting editorial, grading and finishing teams across active projects
  

• Coordinating MCR operations and media management
  

• Managing delivery workflows for broadcasters, streamers, and digital platforms
  

• Building and maintaining project-specific workflows in collaboration with clients and production teams
  

• Developing improved workflows and technical processes as the facility continues to grow
  

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day technical operations of the facility, ensuring reliability and efficiency
  

• Manage and support the MCR and associated post-production workflows
  

• Lead, mentor and support the technical operations team
  

• Act as the escalation point for technical issues affecting post-production operations
  

Workflow Management

• Oversee media ingest, internal media workflows, and delivery pipelines
  

• Ensure the efficient movement of media across the facility, including storage, processing, and delivery systems
  

• Maintain and optimise workflows across editorial, grading, and finishing departments
  

• Work closely with editors, producers, finishing teams and clients to ensure workflows support creative and delivery requirements
  

Workflow Development & Strategy

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline technical workflows
  

• Design and implement new workflows and infrastructure improvements
  

• Play a key role in shaping the future development of the facility’s technical workflows and infrastructure
  

• Evaluate new tools and technologies that could improve efficiency or capability
  

Strategic Development

• Work closely with the company directors to ensure technical operations align with the wider creative and business vision of the facility
  

• Help identify new technical opportunities, services, and workflow developments that strengthen the company’s offering
  

• Support the development of workflows that meet both internal operational needs and client requirements
  

• Contribute to discussions around future infrastructure, systems, and pipeline development as the business continues to grow
  

Infrastructure & Systems Oversight

• Ensure the stability and performance of post-production systems, storage, networking, and media workflows
  

• Work with external engineering and IT teams to maintain systems and resolve issues
  

• Support integration between systems such as asset management, ingest platforms, editorial tools, and delivery systems
  

Delivery & Quality Control

• Oversee final delivery workflows, ensuring technical specifications and platform requirements are met
  

• Ensure quality control standards are maintained across technical operations
  

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Experience working in post-production or broadcast technical operations
  

• Strong understanding of media workflows, ingest pipelines, and delivery systems
  

• Experience of MCR operations and post-production environments
  

• History of leading or managing technical teams
  

• Good understanding of post-production infrastructure, including storage, networking, and media processing pipelines

Desirable

• Experience with media asset management systems
  

• Familiarity with workflow automation or orchestration tools
  

• Knowledge of cloud or hybrid post-production workflows
  

• Experience implementing new technical pipelines or facility upgrades

Software

• Experience in using Avid

• Strong understanding of Blackmagic Resolve
  

• Familiarity with workflow automation or orchestration tools
  

• Knowledge of cloud or hybrid post-production workflows
